- To understand a Biblical family we have to go back to the beginning
- God was the one who decided that Adam needed a helper
- That helper was one comparable to him but not identical to him
- God did not give Adam children at this point, nor did He give him in-laws, he gave him a spouse
- The start of the family is the husband and wife
