- We must accept and be at peace with the fact that there will be times of suffering
- We must answer the call of the Lord when He calls, not when it is convenient for us
- We must be fully committed to the Lord, not just halfway following Him
- There is a cost to discipleship with the Lord, and we have to be willing and ready to pay it
